Clinic Philosophy and Approach
Treating patients as individuals| Every patient is an individual, each with their own array of symptoms and issues which have often been causing pain and discomfort for months and even years. Patients frequently approach me almost in despair, having failed to find a cure to their condition. My first priority is to listen, providing a sympathetic ear, and to take their symptoms seriously. My philosophy is then to work with each patient, to understand, and share with them, the particular problems which they face, and to develop a personal nutritional strategy to deal with them. |

What happens after you first contact me
If you decide, having spoken to, or emailed me, that you would like to attend a clinic, I send you a questionnaire which asks you, in detail, about your symptoms, your concerns, and your aspirations. I ask you to complete this and return it to me ahead of your initial consultation. This allows me to study your case before I meet you.
Your initial consultation will normally last between one and one and a half hours. During this time, I will discuss your symptoms further, and explore any other issues which come up. I would anticipate, in most cases, to be able to go through with you my initial diagnosis, and may recommend specific tests to confirm it, and/or identify, any further problem areas I may suspect. I will then make initial recommendations as to a dietary and nutritional strategy to follow.
I normally encourage a follow-up consultation to discuss the results of any tests you have taken, and to review the results of the strategy I have recommended and to make further suggestions for ongoing treatment, if appropriate. This is best undertaken within a month of the initial consultation.
The first month following a clinic can be a challenging, and sometimes traumatic, period as you adjust to a nutritional strategy which may trigger significant changes in your metabolism. During this time, I am happy to provide support and advice via 'phone, or preferably email, to ensure that you never need feel "on your own".
Finally, I recommend follow-up consultations every six to twelve months to keep a check on how you are doing, and to review your nutritional strategy as your body adjusts to its new, healthier self!
